Somalia’s Prime Minister, Hamza Abdi Barre, today hosted a delegation from the World Parliament for Peace and Reconciliation, led by the organization’s chairman, Ahmed Bin Mohamed Al-Jarwaan.
The discussions focused on the importance of peace, reconciliation, and coexistence. The delegation conveyed their mission to establish a framework for mutual understanding and a joint agreement to be signed between the World Parliament for Peace and Somalia’s Federal Parliament.
Prime Minister Hamza welcomed the delegation, emphasizing Somalia’s guiding principle: “A united Somalia, a world at peace.” He highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen internal peace, foster community reconciliation, and build trust in government institutions.
The visiting delegation included parliamentarians from Djibouti, including Mr. Cilmi Maxabah Wala and Mr. Cabdow Kaamil Mohamed, accompanied by other Somali officials and former leaders.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Prime Minister Hamza presented Chairman Ahmed Bin Mohamed Al-Jarwaan with a special gift, a depiction of a camel, symbolizing the resilience, cultural heritage, and generosity of the Somali people.
